Introduction
Silicon carbide (SiC) is made by using quartz sand and petroleum coke or coal tar, wood chips as raw material through high temperature electric resistance furnace smelting. There is also a rare mineral silicon carbide in nature-- the Mo SangShi. Silicon carbide is also called the moissanite. In contemporary, among the oxide refractory raw material of high and new technology such as C, N, B, silicon carbide is the most widely used and one of the most economic materials. It can be called corundum sand or refractory. At present, the industrial production of silicon carbide can be divided into two black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, which are all the six-party crystal, with the specific gravity of 3.20 ~ 3.25, and the microhardness of 2840 ~ 3320 kg/mm2.

Application
Abrasives
It’s mainly used for the grinding and polishing of grinding wheel, abrasive paper, abrasive belt, oil stone, abrasive brick, grinding head, grinding paste and so on.
Non-ferrous metal
Because silicon carbide has the features of high temperature resistance, strength, good thermal performance, impact resistant, it can be used as indirect heating materials in high temperature, such as strong retort furnace, tray distillation furnace, aluminium electrolyzer, copper melting furnace lining, furnace zinc powder with arc plate, the thermocouple protection tube, etc.
Iron and steel
Because silicon carbide has the features of corrosion resistance, thermal shock resistance and good thermal conductivity, it improves the service life for large blast furnace lining.
Sandblasting derusting
The goods is made by strongly squeezing brown fused alumina micro powder with high pressure extrusion and is finalized by the high temperature. It has moderate hardness and it’s clean. Not easy to break, it can be used repeatedly and sandblasting effect is good.
