Introduction

Wollastonite belongs to three cable-stayed system and it is a kind of fine sheet crystal, its aggregate is radial or fibrous. Its color is white, sometimes with light gray or light red. Glass luster, cleavage face shows pearl luster. The hardness is 4.5 to 5.5, and the density is 2.75 ~3.10g/cm3. It is completely dissolved in concentrated hydrochloric acid. Generally, it is acid proof, alkali resistant and chemical resistant. The hygroscopic property is less than 4%. Low oil absorption, low conductivity, good insulation. Wollastonite is a typical metamorphic mineral, which occurs mainly in the contact zone between acid rock and limestone, and is associated with Fu Shan stone and garnet. It is also found in deep metamorphic calcareous crystalline schist, volcanic eruption and some alkaline rocks. Wollastonite is an inorganic needle like mineral with non-toxic, chemical corrosion resistance, thermal stability and good dimensional stability. It has glass and pearl luster, low water absorption and oil absorption, good excellent mechanical and electrical properties as well as good strengthening effect. Wollastonite products are long fiber and easy to separate, with low iron content and high whiteness. The product is mainly used as reinforcing filler for polymer matrix composites. Such as plastics, rubber, ceramics, coatings, building materials and other industries.
